Sheila Brown-Jefferson, Founder and CEO
Sheila Brown-Jefferson was born on January 27, 1963 to Deacon George and Emma Toomer. She grew up in Fort Pierce, FL attending St. Lucie County school system for elementary and middle school and then moving to Jacksonville, FL attending Duval County school system. She received her Bachelor's degree in 2005 from University of Phoenix.
Sheila has a passion for helping those who are less fortunate (which she realized over 15 years ago). As a compassionate citizen of Duval County, Sheila observed that there are numerous people in Duval and surrounding counties who are living on the streets with no permanent place to call their own. Sheila felt that God was calling her to action. Sheila appealed to God saying over and over, "I know I can't assist them all but my prayer is for you to use me to make a difference in the lives of those that I come into contact with. Letting them know that there are Godly people in this world who care about them and their well- being."
In 2012, God led Sheila to step out on faith believing on the word which says, "I can do all things through Christ because He gives me strength" (Phil 4:13 NCV). Blesing Others All the Time (B.O.A.T.T.) depends on volunteers along with contributions from public and private donors. By working together, we can carry out the word of God throughout His land!
In her spare time, Sheila spends countless hours feeding the hungry (through her church and through the Clara White Mission). Sheila is the Chairperson of a local mentoring program and is also a Big sister for BBBSNEFL. Sheila served as the Volunteer Chair for an employee network group while working at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America that provides assistance to both Hubbard House and PACE Center for Girls. Sheila is the VP of Charitable Acts with National Association of Professional Women (NAPW). Sheila gives all glory, honor and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing her to use her time, talent, treasure and testimony to bless others.
Sheila currently lives on the southside of Jacksonville with her husband Douglas and two sons Edward and Juwan. She and her family attends Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church where
Dr. Eugene W. Diamond is pastor.
February 2013 Sheila was blessed to work in her passion. She is currently working at Clara White Mission where she is now able to help more than she could ever imagine. She thanks God for allowing her this opportunity to do what she loves and fulfilling the purpose in which HE has planned for us to do. She is forever grateful for all the things that God is doing in her life as she continues to give back.
WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!!
